Two people have been arrested in the Nyoma sector of Leh district in Ladakh for smuggling 108 kg of gold from China.

The duo is resident of village Koyul.

They kept the gold at their home in the village.

However, Army stationed in the area received information about the presence of the smuggled gold and passed it to 21 Battalion of the ITBP who arrested the alleged smugglers.

The gold was seized and later shifted to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police headquarters in Leh district. It was an intelligence based operation.
