Srinagar, June 11

The police on Thursday busted a major narco-terror module and arrested three persons along with 21 kg of heroin Rs1.34 crore.

The police also recovered a cash counting machine from them.

“On reliable information, the Handwara police have busted a Pakistan-sponsored narco-terror module and arrested three militant associates of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba,” a police spokesperson said.

He said incriminating materials, including Rs1.34 crore, 21-kg heroin worth Rs 100 crore and a cash counting machine were recovered from their possession.

He said the module was in close connection with Pakistan-based terror handlers and involved in drug trade and assisting financially active terrorists of the proscribed terror outfit LeT.

The arrested trio have been identified as Ab Moomin Peer, Islam Ul Haq Peer of Waskura, Handwara, and Syed Iftikhar Indrabi of Laribal Rajwar, Handwara, in Kupwara district.

A case has been registered.
