KATHUA, April 27
The prolonged wait of 369 students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, who were stranded in Kota, Rajasthan, since the lockdown was announced, got over on Monday after they entered the UT via Lakhanpur. They were onboard 15 SRTC buses, sent by the J&K administration to bring them back, which arrived at Lakhanpur and proceeded towards the respective areas to where the students belong.
“The students will be put in quarantine facilities before being allowed to join their families,” an official said.
Kathua Deputy Commissioner OP Bhagat said 15 buses were dispatched by the J&K government to bring back these students. He said six students from Kargil, who had completed their 14-day quarantine period in Kathua, also joined the group and have proceeded for their onward journey home. The district administrations would take a call on the further course of action, he said.
Another group of 57 students from Ladakh is on their way from Kota to their home districts.
