Six fatalities due to Covid were reported in J&K on Saturday, taking the death toll to 1,372, while 610 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the UT to 87,364, officials said.

Out of the 610 new cases, 247 were reported from the Jammu division and 363 from Kashmir, they said.

Srinagar district reported the highest number of 129 new cases, followed by 116 in Jammu district, the officials said.

There were 8,704 active cases, while 77,288 patients had recovered from the infection so far, they said.

Meanwhile, six fatalities took place in the past 24 hours in J&K — four in the Jammu region and two in the Valley — taking the death toll to 1,372, the officials said.

Leh: Forty-eight more people have tested positive for Covid in Ladakh, taking the total virus caseload in the UT to 5,441, officials said on Saturday.

They said 151 more patients had been cured of the infection bringing down the number of active cases in the region to 915 — 738 in Leh district and 177 in Kargil district.

Ladakh had recorded a total of 65 Covid deaths, while 4,461 patients had recovered so far, they said. — PTI
