Jammu, January 15
Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri arrested a local man and recovered a consignment of banned drugs and tablets from his possession.
As per a statement by police, a team of police headed by Deputy SP Headquarter alongwith SHO Rajouri and incharge police post Rajouri city, intercepted the accused. He has been identified as Sheikh Azar (32), a resident of Ward no. 8 in Rajouri.
“A big consignment of banned drugs comprising 7000 banned tablets (tranadol/ tependadole) were recovered from his possession following which he has been arrested,” read the statement.
“Police in Rajouri district have arrested dozens of narcotic peddlers in the last couple of months as they were found involved in peddling of narcotics and banned drugs,” the statement further read.
