8 CRPF men injured in road accident in Pulwama

Srinagar: Eight CRPF men were injured on Saturday in a road accident in Pulwama district. The vehicle carrying personnel belonging to 130 Battalion collided with a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Goripora (Awantipora) in Pulwama. The injured were taken to the primary health centre in Awantipora. Two were referred to Srinagar. IANS

Pandits welcome Hajis returning from Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: In a heart-warming gesture, a group of Kashmiri Pandits on Saturday welcomed the first batch of 145 Haj pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia. They recited praises for Prophet Muhammad at the airport here. Congratulated them for completing the pilgrimage, Pandits offered them roses. A video of the gesture went viral on social media. PTI

224 new Covid cases in J&K

Srinagar: J&K on Saturday reported 224 fresh Covid cases which pushed its caseload to 4,56,829. The death toll stood at 4,758. There are 967 active cases in J&K. Ladakh reported 13 fresh cases. Its infection tally has reached 28,615. The number of active cases are 61, officials said.
