8 deaths take J&K toll to 187; 314 new cases

With eight fresh deaths today, the Covid-19 toll in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) reached 187.
A total of 314 new positive cases were reported during the past 24 hours and 116 patients cured and recovered in different hospitals.
Reports said all eight deaths were reported from Kashmir Valley, including a trooper of central security forces and a woman from Pulwama district.
According to the official bulletin issued on Monday evening, 314 new cases came to light, 89 in the Jammu division and 225 in the Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 10,827.
Eight members of a family of the Jammu city tested positive on Monday. A member of this family had fallen prey to coronavirus three days ago and after his death, tests of all family members were conducted.
As Jammu district reported positive cases from its outskirts, many areas have been declared red zone. Simbal Morh, Makhanpur Gujjran Panchayat and other areas have been declared restricted.
