The police arrested eight persons, including seven Myanmar nationals (Rohingyas), for defying lockdown orders in Narwal here on late Friday evening.

The police said during patrolling on Friday evening a police party at Narwal found some people offering namaz at Karyani Talab mosque in violation of lockdown order.

A case was registered and all eight persons were arrested.

Arrested persons were identified as Abdul Latief of Narwal, Jammu, Mohammad Ayoub, Sayeed Alam, Lal Mian, Noor Alam, Mohammad Hasham, Siraj-e-Mustafa and Abdul Jabar, all residents of Burma, presently living in Kargil Colony, Jammu.
