Abdul Qayoom assumed the charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Kishtwar district. Qayoom was received by senior police officers at the district police headquarters, where a guard of honour was presented to him.

The outgoing SSP, Khalil Poswal, handed over the baton to the new SSP in a brief function.

Upon assuming the charge, Abdul Qayoom held an introductory meeting with police officers of the district. In his address, he emphasised the importance of dedication and enthusiasm in addressing the problems faced by the people of Kishtwar.

The new SSP stressed the need for teamwork and directed every officer to maintain open communication, keeping their doors always open for the general public to easily reach out with their concerns.
