Leh: Agriculture Secretary reviews expenditure of key schemes
The Administrative Secretary of Agriculture, Bhupesh Chaudhary, chaired a review meeting today in Leh to assess the expenditure and progress of various schemes and ongoing projects under the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Cooperatives in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The meeting featured detailed deliberations on the implementation status of various works under the Special Development Package (SDP) and other key developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the agricultural and horticultural sectors in the region.
A comprehensive presentation was given by the Director, Horticulture Department, Leh, who provided updates on several significant projects, including drip irrigation, development of department farm, compound walling, blacktopping of road, construction of farmer hostel-cum-training centre and deliberated on the various others works under the Special Development Package (SDP).
The Secretary conducted a thorough review of the progress made under both the SDP and the State Capital Expenditure Scheme. He stressed the importance of ensuring timely completion of all projects to maximise their benefits for the farming community
During the meeting, Secretary Chaudhary directed all concerned officers to ensure the optimal utilisation of allocated funds and encouraged proactive coordination between departments to speed up the project’s execution.
The meeting was attended by the Director, Horticulture Department, UT Ladakh; Joint Director, Agriculture Department; Joint Director, Finance Department; and Nodal Officers from the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Cooperative Departments and the Additional Registrar officer and other senior officials participated virtually.
