Jammu, November 22

A youth from Ajmer has been arrested by the police in Narwal area of Jammu and recovered four kilograms of charas (narcotics substance) from his procession.

The arrested person has been identified as Amar Chand, a resident of Ajmer, Rajasthan. He was arrested by the police when he tried to sneak the police check post in Narwal on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, but was chased by the police. He was travelling in a truck coming from Kashmir along with the consignment, the police said.

Station House Officer, Bage Bahu, Sunil Sharma, said, “The arrested youth was involved in smuggling charas for the past two years between Ajmer and Srinagar. We have arrested him with four-kg charas and started investigation into the incident.”
