During the inspection, the enforcement squad identified several violations, including the sale of expired food items. The violators were penalised on the spot and the expired goods were immediately destroyed to prevent their sale. A total fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on offenders as per the relevant regulations.

Authorities have urged traders and shopkeepers to strictly adhere to food safety norms and maintain hygiene standards, ensuring the availability of safe and quality products for consumers, particularly during Ramadan, the spokesperson said.

The administration has also assured that such market inspections would continue to safeguard public health and uphold consumer rights.
