During the operation, the joint team busted a major hideout which led to the recovery of arms and ammunition, which included two M-series rifles with four magazines, two Chinese pistols with three magazines, two hand grenades and some live rounds, he said.

A case has been registered at the Qalamabad Police Station and further investigation has been set into motion, said the spokesperson.

Today’s action comes a day after Handwara police busted a narco-terrorist module operating in north Kashmir and arrested two hybrid terrorists in the Qalamabad area. The father-son duo have been identified as Abdul Lateef, 53, and Shahnawaz Khan, 23, both residents of Handwara police district.
