Jammu: The Army on Thursday dedicated a 100-ft high national flag installed here to the people in Kishtwar district, a defence spokesperson said. Major General Ajay Kumar, GOC, Counter-Insurgency Force (Delta), dedicated the Tricolour at the inaugural ceremony of the Kishtwar Cultural Festival. PTI

1,100-kg poppy straw seized, 3 arrested in Jammu, Kathua

Jammu: A team of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force seized 600-kg poppy straw from a truck in Jammu. Nasir Farooq and Mohammad Amin Rather were arrested. In Kathua, 573-kg poppy straw was found in an oil tanker in Rajbagh. Driver Shawkat Ali was arrested. OC

Two doctors suspended

Jammu: Two doctors were suspended for “absence” in Poonch after a woman died in the Surankote hospital recently. Her kin had blamed doctors’ absence for the death.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
