An Army jawan was injured in an exchange of fire between militants and security forces in Jammu’s Poonch district, officials said today.

“Contact was established with terrorists during a joint operation with the police at Lasana, Surankote last night. Additional troops have been inducted, and search operations are ongoing to prevent the terrorists from escaping,” Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps wrote on X.

The injured Army man was shifted to a hospital. Checkpoints were established by the security forces on the main roads and vehicles were inspected.
