The meeting was attended by all range DIGs and SSPs of Kashmir Zone through VC and physically attended by SSP, Police Control Room, Kashmir, and other senior officers.
Birdi briefed the participating officers regarding the overall election preparedness and arrival of CAPFs to the UT.
All the district SSPs were briefed about the phase wise deployments available, inter-intra district movement of forces and their induction/de-induction in the districts. The IGP stressed upon all district police chiefs to ensure proper logistic and transportation arrangement for the CAPF troops in their respective districts.
He also directed that CAPF counterpart may also be involved during deployment process and all efforts be taken for smooth induction of CAPF and their meticulous deployment plan in all the three phases of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The district SSPs also briefed the IGP with regard to the preparations on the ground and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of elections.
The IGP directed the range DIGs and district SSPs to review the preparations at their own level, identify the gap areas and address the issues at the earliest.
