Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday visited the Vaishno Devi shrine, nestled in Trikuta Hills in Reasi district, and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the Union Territory (UT).
The Lieutenant Governor in a statement on X said, “Paid obeisance at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja and prayed for J&K’s prosperity and the well-being of all.”

In light of the nine-day Navratri festival, Vaishno Devi shrine has been witnessing heavy rush of pilgrims from across the country in the recent weeks. It is learnt that at least 40,000 pilgrims are visiting the cave shrine daily to pay obeisance to the Goddess.
