Baramulla Police attach properties worth Rs 1.72 crore of drug peddler

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached multiple properties belonging to a drug peddler from north Kashmir.

A police spokesperson said continuing its action against drug peddlers, the J&K Police in Baramulla attached property worth Rs 1.72 crore, which included double-storied residential houses in Jammu and Baramulla, a tipper, trailer, and an SUV.

The properties belong to a notorious drug peddler, Rafiq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Trikanjan Boniyar in Baramulla district.

The action was linked with the case FIR at Gangyal Police Station in Jammu.

“The properties were identified as illegally acquired properties during the course of investigation conducted by the police. The properties were acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler,” the police spokesperson said.

In another cases, police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered some illegal drugs from their possession.

A police party at a checkpoint established at Bandi Crossing intercepted a person and during his search, some illegal drugs were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested, the police said.

Meanwhile, another police party of Baramulla police station intercepted a person at a checkpoint established at Veerwan and during his search, 50 grams of ‘charas’ like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested.
