BJP appoints Jasrotia MLA as chief whip
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), J&K unit, has announced key responsibilities for its members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to strengthen the party's organisational structure and legislative functioning in the Assembly.
Rajiv Jasrotia, BJP spokesperson and MLA from Jasrota, has been appointed as the party’s chief whip in the J&K Assembly, while Gharu Ram Bhagat, MLA from Suchetgarh, and Yudhvir Sethi, MLA from Jammu East, have been appointed as whips.
Other key appointments include Surjit Singh Salathia, MLA from Samba, and Pawan Gupta, MLA from Udhampur West, as Deputy Leaders of the Opposition. Vikram Randhawa, MLA from Bahu, has been appointed Secretary, Arvind Gupta, MLA from Jammu West, as Treasurer, and Balwant Mankotia, MLA from Chenani, along with Shakti Raj Parihar, MLA Doda West, as spokespersons.
As chief whip, he pledged to highlight public issues in the Assembly, ensure government accountability, and remind them of their electoral promises.
