The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday criticised mainstream political parties for their failure to address the key issues in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP national spokesperson Shazia Ilmi, alongside Rajpora candidate Arshad Bhat, highlighted the party’s commitment to development and peace in the region during a press conference in Srinagar.

Ilmi stated that despite being targeted across the country, including in J&K, the BJP has remained focused on its vision for progress. Arshad Bhat explained his decision to join the BJP and contest elections under its banner, accusing parties like the National Conference (NC), Congress, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of neglecting Kashmiri youth.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ilmi said the BJP envisions a stable, peaceful Jammu and Kashmir.
