Bhalla alleged that the BJP was using the operation for political gain instead of uniting the nation in the fight against terrorism.

“The Army has made the nation proud consistently with its bravery,” Bhalla said. “But rather than recognising this nationally, the BJP is using the counter-terrorism operation after the Pahalgam attack to serve its own political agenda” he said and added that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had made it clear that the party stood with the government in combating terrorism, “yet the BJP refused to acknowledge bipartisan support or uphold Parliamentary decorum”.

Bhalla during a tour to Nai Basti area said there is an immediate need to address the concerns of the locals. Bhalla highlighted various issues faced by residents of Nai Basti, including inadequate infrastructure, water scarcity, and lack of basic amenities.

Bhalla said that “misusing the operation against terrorists will undermine the dignity and sacrifices of the armed forces”.

Meanwhile, Bhalla said the administration of J&K was not able to provide relief to the people if Jammu. “The residents of Jammu district have been left stranded due to persistent shortages of drinking water and irregular power supply. Despite the installation of smart meters, the government has miserably failed to ensure a regular power supply.”
