Senior BJP leader and the party spokesman Altaf Thakur has criticized the Omar Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir government for its alleged slow response to the ongoing snow crisis.

Thakur in a statement accused the government of failing to clear link roads promptly and fully restore essential services such as power and water, leaving residents to suffer in freezing conditions.

The BJP leader said while main roads were being prioritised, interior roads and link roads in rural areas and also in Srinagar remain buried under heavy snow, cutting off vital access for many communities. He said the government has shown complete disregard for the plight of common people, who are left stranded without proper connectivity.

Thakur requested the government to pace up snow-clearing operations and expedite the restoration of essential services.
