Jammu, January 23
More than 100 candidates of the Higher Secondary Part-I (Class XI) who had appeared in the annual board exams of session (regular) 23019 of the winter zone (Jammu Province) and resorted to the use of unfair means/misbehaviour at the examination centres have been directed to appear before the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) sub-committee on January 28, 2020.
Sources said a total of 180 candidates of Class XI and 20 students who had appeared in the secondary school (Class X) annual board examination of the winter zone were found guilty of using unfair means during the school education board examination at their respective centres. They further said the candidates would appear before the sub-committee for scrutiny and disposal of unfair means/misconduct cases to defend themselves against the charges levelled against them.
“It is mandatory for all students to appear before the committee as it is their only chance to put forth their replies and if they fail in doing so, then it will be presumed that they have nothing to say in their defence and the decision taken by the sub-committee on the basis of available records/reports will be final and binding on them”, a BOSE official said.
“Candidates are advised to contact sub-offices concerned and branch offices of JKBOSE to get further details. In 2019, 513 candidates, including 294 of Class XII and 219 candidates of Class X of the summer zone had appeared before the JKBOSE committee for scrutiny and disposal of unfair means/misconduct cases during the the annual board exams conducted by the school education board”, the official further said.
Sources further said not only students but BOSE is also taking strict action against officers/officials who were involved in different kinds of offences. Last year, strict action was taken against more than 20 officers/officials who were appointed as Superintendents/Deputy Superintendents/Assistant Superintendents at various examination centres of the summer zone (Jammu Province) during the annual board examination.
In Jammu Division, the three districts — Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar— completely fall under the winter zone while a few areas in the districts of Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua fall under the winter zone.
