The event began with a pledge ceremony where participants committed to adhere road safety norms. This was followed by a signature campaign and a sticker-pasting activity aimed at reinforcing the message of responsible driving.

A spokesperson for the event highlighted that the car rally, featuring vehicles adorned with banners and slogans promoting road safety, served as a key tool for spreading awareness across the city. The event took place at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Rajbagh, Srinagar, and witnessed enthusiastic participation.

During his visit to the Trial Test Ground in Srinagar, Transport Commissioner Mahajan emphasised the importance of wearing proper helmets for two-wheelers and seat belts for car drivers, while adhering to road safety rules. He also issued instructions to officers to streamline best practices in the driving test process for issuing licenses.

Mahajan assured that a hi-tech, robust mechanism would be established to improve the future transport system, ensuring quality services by the transport department.
