The Centre has made an outreach to workers engaged in construction of strategic roads and other infrastructure at Zoji La Pass, Kargil and Dras bordering China to review their working conditions and implementation of labour laws and new labour codes.

The Union Labour Minister has sent a team led by Chief Labour Commissioner and Director General, Labour Bureau, DPS Negi to Ladakh. The Labour Ministry is also reviewing the campaign to sensitise stakeholders to the labour laws. Negi held meetings with workers, contractors and officials of the BRO and the NHIDCL. — TNS
