He underscored his mission to empower women through skill development, a programme he initiated in every panchayat, which had now grown into the renowned “Looms of Ladakh” — a brand that represents Ladakhi craftsmanship.

He said the allocation of commercial plots to 210 families of the Maan Pangong area had improved living standards and generated new income opportunities. Stanzin said previously unconnected villages such as Maan Pangong were connected under the PMGSY road projects. “Mobile connectivity has expanded with the installation of the BSNL towers at Phobrang, Urgo, Lukung, Kawa Gang, Shooting Point Spangmik, Maan and Khakted, along with Airtel towers at Phobrang, Urgo, Lukung, Maan and Merak” he said.

He said tap water connections reached every household and all medical centres were newly constructed with residential facilities for staff, ensuring better healthcare delivery in the remote region.
