Jammu, March 11

After receiving a few emails from both the students as well as their parents regarding their concerns about spread of deadly coronavirus in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Jammu has assured that there is no need to worry.

However, it has been informed by the IIT-Jammu that the classes will resume as scheduled and if there is any change it will be intimated immediately. “We have received a few emails from the students and parents regarding their concerns about the spread of coronavirus. The institute is continuously keeping a watch on the situation. As of now classes will resume as scheduled. Any change will be intimated immediately,” an IIT-Jammu advisory said.

Covid threat: ‘no need to worry’

  • The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Jammu has assured that there is no need to worry.
  • It has been informed by the IIT-Jammu that the classes will resume as scheduled and if there is any change it will be intimated immediately.

“You should not worry at all, in case of any queries, please feel free to contact our helpline number 911912570633 or send an email at helpdesk@iitjammu.ac.in,” the advisory added.

When contacted, Commodore (retd) Naresh Kumar, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the IIT-Jammu, told The Tribune, “Right now, most of the students have gone back to their respective homes after the examination. The classes are running as per schedule. As of now, there is no such order to close the institute. In case, if any decision taken by the IIT administration regarding the same, it will be intimated immediately toall concerned.”
