Jammu, February 5

The minority cell of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has criticised Centre’s decision to reduce reservation for residents of backward areas in government jobs from 20 per cent to 10 per cent.

“Hundreds of youngsters living in rural and far-flung areas of J&K will be deprived of employment in the government sector. It is a matter of concern that Centre is following anti-poor policies,” said Jagjeet Singh Rinple, district chairman of the minority cell.

He strongly opposed the Budged announced by the Union Finance Minister in Parliament and alleged that it lacked development agenda. Michael Wazir, state coordinator of the cell, also lashed out at the BJP for denial of rights to people of Jammu and Kashmir.
