Delegations take up demands with Tribal Affairs Minister Javed Ahmed Rana

Minister for Tribal Affairs Javed Rana meets delegations from Jammu region at the Jammu Secretariat.

Several delegations as well as individuals hailing from far-off areas of Jammu division met Minister for Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. The delegations, primarily from from Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley, interacted with the Minister and apprised him about various issues ranging from critical services to the developmental issues in their areas.

Rana, while interacting with delegations and individuals, reaffirmed the government commitment to address the issues of general masses at their door steps with greater efficiency and transparency. He urged the delegations and individuals to continue raising issues of their respective areas for the overall welfare of their community.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
