Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary paid a surprise visit to various government offices at Sanat Ghar Bemina, Srinagar.

Officials said the move is a bid to enhance public convenience and ensure efficient service delivery.

The Deputy CM visited the offices of Director Industries, Kashmir; MD, JK Minerals; MD SICOP/SIDCO; MD, Handloom Development Corporation; KVIB, Office of TPO.

A spokesperson said he reviewed the functioning of these offices and asked the officers to ensure that the public receives hassle-free services.

During the visit, the Deputy CM emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness, ensuring quick disposal of public grievances and enforcing punctuality in government offices.

Choudhary held a detailed discussion with the officials regarding steps to streamline the functioning of their respective departments. He emphasised the need for prompt service delivery, better management of public inflow and improved infrastructure, especially considering the ongoing summer heat.

He also stressed that benefits of all government schemes should reach the last person in line in real time. He directed for conducting awareness programmes to educate the general public about the government schemes.

The Deputy CM cautioned that no lackadaisical approach would be tolerated, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability. He directed that all the Head of Departments should be stationed in Srinagar stating “it is essential that citizens do not have to wait unnecessarily and services are provided strictly according to the scheduled time frame”.

Reiterating commitment of the government towards citizens’ satisfaction, the Deputy CM emphasised that every person should receive government services in a prompt, corruption-free and transparent manner.
