Keeping in view the present security scenario and forthcoming Assembly election, the Deputy Inspector General of Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Shiv Kumar, on Monday conducted a late night surprise checking of border areas.

The surprise checking was conducted in border areas of all three districts. The DIG visited Londi Morh in Hiranagar and interacted with SHO Inspector Arun Koul and Border Police Post (BPP) officials.

He also met with the BSF officials in Border Out Post (BoP) Chak Dulma. He later visited BPP Rajpura. Samba SHO iInspector Sikandar Singh briefed him about border police working and ways to plug the traditional routes of terrorists.

Later, the DIG also reviewed the security arrangements at Narsingh Temple due to heavy rush of devotees. Samba SSP Vinay Kumar accompanied him and gave detailed view of the security arrangements and preparedness for the forthcoming elections.
