The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today censured the government for ‘disturbing’ the biannual Durbar Move practice by allowing departments to function from Kashmir as well as Jammu regions.

A JKPCC statement issued here said the decision to allow a few departments to work from both regions was ‘disturbing’ and an ‘attempt to create void’ between Jammu and Kashmir.

“The decision to split biannual Durbar Move by keeping various key departments in Jammu as well as in Kashmir is very unfortunate and anti-people….such decisions tantamount to putting further burden on the common people, who were already depressed due to the wrong policies adopted by the Centre,” the statement added.

The Congress urged the government not to “disturb the old practice of Durbar Move”. — TNS
