In a significant step against drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached five residential houses and three vehicles, collectively valued at Rs 4.3 crore, under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. According to a police spokesperson, “this decisive action is part of ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in the region.”

The action saw the attachment of properties linked to several key individuals involved in NDPS-related cases. Reyaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Hassanpora Tawella, had his single-story house attached by Bijbehara Police for his involvement in multiple NDPS cases. Mohammad Yousuf Reshi, connected to a major narcotics recovery case, had his double-story house attached by Bijbehara Police, while Subzar Ahmad Mir, also from Hassanpora Tawella, had his single-story residential property attached.

Police said Mohammad Shafi Dar, a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara, saw his double-story house attached for NDPS activities.

Abdul Hamid Chopan, identified as a habitual offender, had his residential house, valued at Rs 30 lakh, attached by Achabal Police. Furthermore, three vehicles linked to drug activities were also seized during this action.

The police said these proactive measures “reflect Anantnag Police’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring that those involved in such crimes face stringent legal consequences.”
