The police have seized drug and arrested five peddlers in Samba and Kathua districts. In Samba, three residents of Kishtwar were caught near Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana, and 14-gm chitta, a white-powdered Heroin-like substance. was seized. The accused have been identified as Umar Hussain, Bilal Ahmed and Irfan Ahmed.

In Kathua, the police seized nearly 33.72-gm chitta in Rajbagh and arrested Surmu Din and Haneef Ali. Another accused, Maradu Din, brother of Surmu, was able to escape. The three were caught at a checkpoint when they were on their way from Khanpur towards Rajbagh in a car.
