Ranbir Canal is one of the legacy of Dogra rulers who constructed it for the benefit of farmers about a century ago. Its unfortunate that waste is being dumped along its banks, especially near the Paloura BSF camp. Even the residents living near the area dump solid waste, which finally finds way into the water body. This needs to stop.

Traffic mess at Shakti Nagar

Four-laning of the Jammu-Akhnoor highway was welcomed by the people with the result that the traffic has been diverted towards the Shakti Nagar-AG Office road. There is daily chaos on the road which is the main reason for traffic jam. There is need to speed up the work on expansion of road. There is also need for more alternative roads and flyovers in Jammu, especially along the Canal Road-Talab Tillo-Bohri area.
