Jammu, June 8

The government has decided to shut the civil secretariat and other move offices in Jammu by the month-end and start functioning from Srinagar.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Lt Governor GC Murmu in Jammu on Monday.

The civil secretariat was formally thrown open in Srinagar by Murmu in May, but the employees were asked to work from as is where is basis because of the coronavirus lockdown.

Sources said during the meeting to review the functioning of the Durbar move, the government was keen on shifting it to Srinagar.
