Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Shopian district on Saturday. Militants opened fire at security personnel during a search operation in Shirmal area, a police official said. So far, there has been no report of any casualty, officials added. PTI

Srinagar: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday flayed the administration for “handing over jobs and land to the outsiders”. She said there was corruption in the allotment of contracts, recruitments and developmental works. She appealed to the youth to shun militancy, saying security forces were getting incentives for killing them.
