Fire Training College’s 1st batch passes out
The passing out parade on the completion of basic firemanship training course by the maiden batch was held today at Fire Training College, Bari Brahmana.
A spokesperson said trainees were imparted rigorous training, preparing them to serve the nation with dedication and safeguarding the lives and property of the general public.
Alok Kumar, ADGP, Director Fire & Emergency services, J&K, was the chief guest at the event. On the occasion, he delivered an inspiring address, emphasising the important role the firefighters play in ensuring public safety.
In his speech, Kumar lauded the recruits for their dedication, discipline and resilience urging them to serve with integrity, courage and professionalism. He also commended the trainees and acknowledged the efforts of the training staff in imparting high quality training.
Zakir Hussain was declared as indoor best and all-round best while Raishma Manzoor was declared as outdoor best and were honoured with awards for their excellence in various aspects of training.
The ADGP highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the department for career progression of the employees and strengthening of the services, which include submission of Draft Fire & Emergency Services Act to give powers to the department for implementation of Fire Safety recommendations in various types of occupancies, revised non gazetted recruitment rules for removing stagnation amongst various categories of employees and providing promotional avenues to them.
He also highlighted the result oriented initiative of mass public awareness programme started by the department since August 2022 in all educational and health institutions, imparting basic fire prevention training to about 8 lakh youth and employees, which has resulted in decrease in fire incidents and percentage of losses due to fires.
The event concluded with an impressive parade and March Past, which was witnessed by senior officers and officials of the department.
