Banihal/Jammu, July 2

Five persons were killed and four injured when a car skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar national highway and plunged into a deep gorge on Friday, a senior police officer said. The accident took place near Digdole in Ramban district when the driver of the car lost control after hitting a mini-load carrier, Senior Superintendent of Police PD Nitya said. PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
