Srinagar: A full dress rehearsal of the Independence Day celebration was held on Thursday in different district headquarters across Kashmir. In Srinagar, a full dress rehearsal was held at SK stadium in Srinagar, where Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Pandurang K Pole hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. The contingents of BSF, CRPF, SSB, JKAP, IRP, lady contingent, SDRF, F&ES and FPF participated in the march past, said a spokesperson.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
