Need for passenger sheds

In Srinagar, there are hardly any safe places for passengers to wait for the buses or cabs. At Badshah Chowk, where most of the cabs and buses leave for central Kashmir, there is no proper waiting places for the commuters. While the authorities are making tall claims to turn Srinagar into a smart city but nothing has been done for providing the residents with basic facilities. The city continues to be in the same mess as it was years ago. The authorities must wake up from the slumber and make such facilities available for people.

Need for metro

While the government has made announcement that they will connect Srinagar city with metro, which would be a huge convenience to people, but I fear that the projects in Srinagar are often crippled with delay, which leads to lack of infrastructural development and keeps us backward. The metro project should be started and at a quick pace like how it is done outside, it should not turn into another disappointment for the residents who will have to wait for lifetime to see the project into reality.

Improvement in government schools

For years, the government schools in the Valley have been in a neglected situation. While huge funds are released for such schools but there has been no development. Most of the schools continue to function from rented buildings with hardly an atmosphere of a school. I urge the government that in many areas in Srinagar the schools are on the roads with no lawns or good facilities. My children study at a private school but when I see these kids being neglected it is very hurtful in a society which lacks equality for downtrodden children who mostly study in these schools. The lack of facilities forces many children to drop out from school.
