Health Minister Sakeena holds mega public darbar in Kulgam

Addressing a large gathering, the minister said the administration aimed to ensure that development reached every household. “Our objective is to take development to every doorstep and ensure that no citizen feels left out of the progress story,” she said.
Minister Sakeena Itoo reiterated that the Omar Abdullah-led government was formed by the trust of the people and remained committed to inclusive development and grassroots empowerment, particularly in remote and tribal areas.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from residents of Balsiran, Dodkuchan, Kandimarg and Sanyadi, as well as representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and youth groups, who raised issues related to roads, healthcare, education, power supply and public services.
The minister personally heard grievances and issued on-the-spot directions for their prompt resolution. She also reviewed the ongoing construction of the Sanyadi–Dodkuchan Bridge, being executed by the R&B Department at an estimated cost of Rs 6.23 crore, and directed officials to ensure timely completion without compromising quality.
Earlier, the Minister laid the foundation stone for several road projects and sports facilities in DH Pora constituency, including: Kounsermarg–Nandimarg Road to Galman (Rs 415.49 lakh), Seerpora–Hajampora Road (Rs 405.68 lakh), and Bangward Dadran Road to Dadran Gujjarbasti (Rs 283.08 lakh)
She said the upgraded roads would enhance connectivity, facilitate trade, improve access to healthcare and education, and boost tourism.
During her visit to Manzgam, the minister also laid the foundation stone for upgrading the local playfield at a cost of Rs 80.25 lakh, which will include change rooms, seating tiers, fencing and other amenities.
She said the initiative was part of the government’s vision to nurture youth talent and promote sports as a tool for empowerment, discipline and social harmony.
