The J&K State Legal Services Authorities (JKSLSA), under the patronage of Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Gita Mittal, has started another helpline number for senior citizens amid the lockdown.

Justice Rajesh Bindal, Chairman of JKSLSA, in a statement issued here on Tuesday, said the JKSLSA had been working with a mission to provide relief to the distressed and needy by launching helplines. They had so far launched helplines for standard labourers, general public, victims of domestic violence and children in the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic.

In the similar vein was the drive to set up a helpline for elderly of J&K and Ladakh. The JKSLSA claimed that since the launch of the helpline on April 21, 110 calls had been received, out of which 54 calls pertained to medicines, 37 calls for groceries and nine calls were for hospital visits.
