With the single-day highest 15 deaths, all from Kashmir, during the past 24 hours, the Covid toll in Jammu and Kashmir reached 593 today.

Fortyone patients have lost their lives in the Jammu province, while 552 deaths have been reported from the Kashmir valley.

The UT recorded 654 new cases, 114 from the Jammu division and 540 from the Valley during the same period, taking the total number of cases to 31,371.

According to the official bulletin issued on Friday evening, out of the 31,371 positive cases, 6,973 were active positive, 23,805 had recovered and 593 persons had died, 41 in the Jammu division and 552 in the Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of the 8,44,641 test results available, 8,13,270 samples had tested negative.

Meanwhile, till date, 4,26,670 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases had been enlisted for observation which included 42,078 persons in home quarantine, including facilities operated by the government, 6,973 in isolation and 43,232 under home surveillance. Besides, 3,33,794 persons had completed their surveillance period.
