A hoax bomb call led to the halting of a flight at the Srinagar international airport on Monday evening, officials said. A police officer said the caller informed about presence of a bomb in a GoAir flight (G8-149) at 8 pm, which was scheduled to leave for Delhi.

Without taking any chances, the flight was halted for some time, the officer said, adding that nothing was found on searching the plane. Later, flight operations resumed at the airport. According to the police officer, the prank caller had been traced to New Delhi. All flights have resumed normally. “The halted flight also took off from the Srinagar airport,” he said, adding that the phone had been switched off since the hoax call. “Further investigation is underway,” he said.
