After receiving information about the movement of terrorists in Kreeri area, policemen along with an Army team established a joint checkpoint where Mohd Iqbal Bhat, a resident of Tilgam Payeen, was caught.

Upon searching, the security men found arms and ammunition, including a pistol, a magazine and seven rounds. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was involved in providing logistical support for terrorist activities and was in touch with Pakistani terrorists Saifullah and Abu Zarar,” the police said.

According to the police, his arrested averted major terror plots and busted the module responsible for several recent attacks on panchayat members and non-locals. The arrested terrorist is said to have been involved in providing chemicals and other materials for carrying out IED attacks on the highway between Narbal and Renji.
