IEDs defused in Pulwama

A joint team of the police, the Army and the CRPF today defused an improvised explosive device (IED) detected in a container, which was approximately 10 litres in capacity, at Panzgam village in Awantipora area of Pulwama district, officials in the security establishment said.
Security forces received information about the presence of IED-like material alongside the link road, leading from the railway road, Dogri Pora, to Panzgam village. A joint team of the Awantipora police, 55 Rashtriya Rifles and 185 BN CRPF cordoned off the area and seized it. Another IED was found at Saimoo in Tral area.
The security men detected a container approximately 10 litres in capacity containing IED and defused it on the spot, officials said. A case under relevant provisions of law has been registered at the Awantipora police station and a probe is underway.
Later in a tweet, the Kashmir Zone police said, “Inputs were received that #terrorists were planning to carry out #IED attacks which shall be spectacular. Acting swiftly 02 IEDs have been recovered from two different places in #Awantipora area (of Pulwama district).” They said the timely detection of explosives averted major terror incidents.
