IIM-Jammu to host BRICS Council event
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and knowledge partner Global Counter Terrorism Council (GCTC), is hosting the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultations on Friday at the IIM campus.
“This event aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among youth, providing a platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore opportunities to promote entrepreneurial growth and collaboration across BRICS nations,” an official said.
The event will be inaugurated by Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, with Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary, as the Guest of Honour. Prof. B.S. Sahay, director of IIM Jammu, will also be present.
Over 50 start-ups from across Jammu and Kashmir will showcase their innovations, technologies, and products in sectors including tourism, food tech, agri-tech, software technology, herbal cosmetics, herbal food supplements and artificial intelligence.
Representatives from Mission YUVA, DST i-TBI, SBDU-IIM Jammu and STEM-IIIM Jammu will also engage with participants at their respective stalls.
The event is expected to attract over 500 students from various universities, colleges and schools, along with academicians, technocrats, start-ups, and industrialists, making it a significant milestone in fostering entrepreneurial spirit.
Organised under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay and supported by the faculty, staff, and students at IIM Jammu, the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultations form part of the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting Series.
With the theme “Youth Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth,” the event aligns with the broader objectives of fostering innovation, collaboration and sustainable development across BRICS nations, aiming to empower the youth and drive long-term process.
