The Intra-Zonal Sports Festival 2020 was organised by Government PG College, Rajouri, which was inaugurated by Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Rajouri. The initiative was taken with the intention to involve students of all colleges of J&K in different indoor and outdoor Sports activities. Nine Colleges of Rajouri district re participating in the event, which will conclude on February 27.

Schools celebrate annual day

Shemrock Mini Miracles, Model town Gangyal branch and Shemrock Magic tree, Shastri Nagar branch, celebrated annual day-cum-graduation day. The theme of the event was “Umang 2020” wherein Rohini Aima, principal-cum-vice chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School was the chief guest. Vijay Puri, academic director of Shemford, Jammu, was the guest of honour . Meritorious students were felicitated.

Birth anniversary celebrations

Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) No 1, Udhampur, celebrated the birth anniversary of the founder of the world scouting movement, Lord Baden Powell (World thinking Day).Festivities started with the welcoming of the chief guest, Sumit Mehra, principal of the vidyalaya. Rich tributes were paid to Lord Baden Powell. All the scouts and guides took an oath to be honest, kind hearted and help. The cultural programme was mesmerising. Various competitions were also held.

National congress at SMVDU

The Baden Powell birth anniversary celebrations under way at KV NO.1, Udhampur.

The School of Languages and Literature (SoL&L), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, organised a day-long national congress on International Mother Language Day. Literary and creative writers of Dogri, Sarazi, Bhadarwahi, Kashmiri, Hindi, Sanskrit, and others presented their works. Dr Amitabh V Dwivedi, coordinator of the event, informed the audience about the theme of the event. Prof RK Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, was the chief guest on the occasion.
