Sisters Ansa Chishti and Ayeera Chishti brought laurels for Jammu and Kashmir by clinching gold medals in Russian Moscow Stars Wushu International Championship going on in Moscow, Russia, from February 28 until March 5.

Both players performed exceptionally well in their respective weight categories of 52kg and 56 kg. They beat their Russian opponents in the finals.

This is the third International medal for Ayeera as she had won gold in Georgia and bronze in World championship at Indonesia earlier. “Now it’s third consecutive medal in international Wushu championship for her. Last year, she was also shortlisted for State Award. Ayeera is the first Wushu female athlete, who was shortlisted for this prestigious award,” an official informed.

Similarly, Ansa won second medal in international Wushu championship. Earlier she had won silver in Georgia International Wushu championship. This is her first gold medal in international championship.

Notably, both players are national champions in their respective weight categories and have won many medals in national championships.
